Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify smart sustainability indicators in sports organizations, with a focus on strategic human resource management and organizational transformation.

Methodology: This qualitative research employed the grounded theory method using Charmaz’s constructivist approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with managers and human resource experts in the national Departments of Sport and Youth. Theoretical sampling was conducted using the theoretical saturation method, and interviews were completed with 14 participants.

Findings: The findings revealed that the indicators of strategic human resource management in sports organizations include strategic planning, talent acquisition and development, performance evaluation, and motivation to retain human resources. Organizational transformation is achieved through innovative structure, employee empowerment, change management, and enhanced inter-organizational collaboration. Smart sustainability is reinforced through a sustainable organizational culture, innovation in sustainability strategies, resource provision, and participation in social initiatives.

Conclusion: The results indicate that the integration of strategic human resource management, organizational transformation, and smart sustainability enhances the performance, flexibility, and resilience of sports organizations. This synergy lays the groundwork for sustainable development and the achievement of long-term goals in complex and competitive environments.
