Abstract

Objective: This study was conducted to research the future of knowledge-based companies in the sports industry in Iran.
Methodology: The research method used in this study was mixed (qualitative-quantitative). The target population of the research was experts who were aware of the research subject, and according to the purposeful selection, 18 people were selected as the research sample. The qualitative data collection tools were in-depth interviews, and the quantitative data were researcher-made questionnaires and qualitative data to identify indicators affecting the future of knowledge-based companies in the field. The sports industry was analyzed using the thematic analysis based on the Braun and Clark model and quantitative data using the technique of mutual effects analysis and scenario writing. The scenario wizard was used.
Results: After data analysis, 203 primary concepts were categorized into 33 sub-themes and 23 main themes affecting knowledge-based companies. The results showed that knowledge-based companies in Iran's sports industry will be affected by 23 indicators in the future, but among them are the indicators of commercialization, entrepreneurship, globalization, media attention, human resources, and Border expansion are key indicators that will change the future of knowledge-based companies in the sports industry. Finally, based on these indicators, 10 scenarios with a high probability of occurrence and compatibility in the future of knowledge-based companies were drawn.
Conclusion: According to the findings, knowledge-based companies play an important role in the effectiveness of production, the crystallization of knowledge in new products and services, the improvement of the level of economy and well-being, and the production of wealth and added value in sports. The more knowledge-based companies use knowledge, creativity and innovation in their structures, the more its value increases.
